James Dolan Taking a More Hands On Approach?

Garden chairman James Dolan is taking a more active role in the Knicks' pursuit of Carmelo Anthony and has had direct negotiations with Denver Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke, the Daily News has learned.

According to a source familiar with the negotiations, Dolan's decision to become more involved in the Anthony trade talks is a sign that the Knicks are closing in on a deal for the All-Star forward.

Frank Isola also notes that while owners like Mark Cuban of the Mavericks are typically involved in trade negotiations, Dolan has been a hands-off owner, taking a back seat to most things in the public eye.

Could his involvement mean the Knicks are as close as over to acquiring Anthony, and Dolan wants to come in as the closer to seal the deal? Perhaps, but with roughly two weeks left until the trading deadline, anything is possible.

There's your Carmelo Anthony, folks. Anthony has also been mentioned most recently in trade rumors that have him joining Kobe Bryant in La-La Land, but Dan from "Knicks Vision" thinks Knickerbocker fans need not worry about those rumors too much.
