In addition to improving his stamina and working out with Hakeem Olajuwon for the second summer in a row, getting married was also on Amar'e Stoudemire's "to-do" list this offseason.
The Knicks' star, turned sixth man, turned question mark, celebrated his marriage to Alexis Welch, the mother of his kids, this weekend. The two held a reception in Miami, where a select few stars and a slew of Stoudemire's past and present teammates helped the couple celebrate in proper fashion.
From Timbland to Knicks theme-song writer Swizz Beatz and wife Alicia Keys, to a bunch of current Knickerbockers, plenty of Stoudemire's friends came out to party. Knicks players to have attended included Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler, J.R. Smith, and Iman Shumpert. Even Stoudemire's two-time teammate Kurt Thomas (a Knicks' fan-favorite in every sense) came out to show support.
Say what you will about Stoudemire's recent struggles on the court, but he's truly one of the nicest guys there is. Always a courteous guy with an even more positive attitude, it's nice to see him have something more positive going on, even if it is off the court. He's an easy guy to root for.
